About Our Speaker:
Aaron Jeffries
Growing up in Jefferson City, my family constantly encouraged my love of the outdoors. Like many folks, my early adventures in hunting, fishing, camping, canoeing, and gardening greatly influenced my passion for these activities today. I have fond memories of squirrel and quail hunting with my dad, turkey hunting with my grandfather, and canoeing Ozark streams with my family and friends. These experiences have greatly expanded my appreciation for Missouri’s diverse natural communities and outdoor heritage.
I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Plant Science and Master of Science Degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Science from the University of Missouri. During my career with the Department, I have worked as a wildlife biologist, policy specialist, area biologist, upland game coordinator, governmental relations specialist, private land program supervisor, and assistant to the director. Since 2016 I’ve served as a deputy director for the Department.
