Get your kids ready to play in the dirt. And sand. And water.

This Sunday, Oct. 12, is Messy Play Day at the Endangered Wolf Center. Children ranging from the newly walking to age 5 will have a chance to play with mud, dirt, sand, water, paint and lots more.

msssMore than 80 kids participated in our first ever Messy Play Day last June 29, with more than 100 parents watching over them.

The cost for Messy Play Day is $8 per child. Parents are free.

Messy Play Day will start at 9 a.m. Sunday and last until 1 p.m. Participants don’t have to arrive at the start or stay until it closes. Whatever length of time suits a child’s needs is perfect!

“Kids that age learn by being tactile,” said Education Coordinator Ashley Rearden. So on Messy Play Day, activities will include sand exploration, mud and dirt fun, water play, watercolors, face painting and more. Kids and parents will learn how to make homemade nature crafts.

Special mini-tours of the Endangered Wolf Center animal enclosures will be available for an tional $10 per person that day only. There is no charge for a mini-tour for children enrolled in Messy Play.

Parents can call 636-938-5900 to reserve a spot for Messy Play Day.

Walk-ups will be accepted based on availability.

Parents should dress their kids in clothes that can get filthy dirty.
