Explore different habitats from canid species all over the world and then create a habitat for one of our animal residents. This program lasts approximately 90 minutes long. Caught in a Food Web | Grades 2-5
Explore different ecosystems and the food webs within them! During this field trip, you’ll have the chance to complete science-based activities, create a human food web, and visit some of our resident canids. This program lasts approximately 90 minutes. Please note: During puppy season in April and May, this field trip may not include viewing our canid residents.
Animal Behavior | Grades 6+
Why do some birds dance? Why do wolves howl? Find out the answers to these questions and more by joining us for our animal behavior field trip! This field trip includes classroom activities, an animal husbandry game, and observing the behaviors of the animals that live at our Center. During our breeding season in January and February, students will also help our staff observe breeding behaviors with our resident wolves. This program is approximately 90 minutes long.
Seasonal Field Trips
Passport to Predators | All Ages
During this 90-minute field trip, students will join their very own docent tour guide in our classroom where they will spend about 20 minutes learning about the eight species of wolves, foxes and painted dogs we have at the Center and the important role these animals play in a healthy ecosystem. Students will be given a passport booklet to bring with them on their walking tour of the animal habitats. At each habitats, they can observe the animals in a natural enviroment, while they learn exciting facts about each species they visit. At the end of the program students will get a stamp in their passport.
