Dancing With The Wolves

This year's 11th annual Gala event will honor Ted Turner, a philanthropist, media mogul, environmentalist and the largest private landowner in the country.

He will be awarded for his dedication to saving a nearly extinct species of wolves and returning them to their natural habitats. He will receive the Perkins Partner in Conservation Medal for his efforts.

Honorary chairs for the event are former Perkins conservation medal winners Betty White and Dr. Peter Raven, and zoo director, Dr. Jeffrey Bonner. Gala committee members are: Susan Block, Marguerite Perkins Garrick, Ginny Busch, Julie Gerlach, Judy Goodman, PJ Harrison, Natasha Hawkins, Marilyn Hoessle, Janice and Philip Hulse, Eileen Hulsey, Jean Racowsky, Laura Shaughnessy, Dee Dee Simon, Dot Soldavini, Jeanne Townsend, Anne von der Heydt and Lee Weber.
