Thank you for your interest in Camp Rendezvous, the Endangered Wolf Center’s unique summer day camp. The day camp is geared toward children ages 6 through 9. The cost of the camp is $150 per child and the cost includes snacks, supplies for take home crafts a camp T-shirt and to top it all off, a special campfire and tour given to you by your child. After care is available this year for campers from 3 - 5 p.m. An additional charge of $40 will be due at the time of registration.

The 2011 camp sessions will be held from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. on the following dates:

  • Mon., June 20 - Thurs., June 23 with a Camp Fire graduation ceremony on Thurs., June 23 at 7 p.m.

Camp Rendezvous will help children learn about endangered species--in particular, endangered wolves, and what the Endangered Wolf Center is doing to help certain species make a comeback. They will also learn about wolf behavior, development, and the ecological importance of the wolf.

Activities that the children will engage in include: a tour of the enclosures and facility, playing predator/prey games, making wolf-related crafts, exploring a bat cave, learning how to track wolves, and a "Chat with the Keepers", which will show them how wolves are cared for on a day-to-day basis. All Camp Rendezvous activities will be guided by Endangered Wolf Center staff and volunteers. The Camp Rendezvous attendees will not have the opportunity to pet or play with any of the wolves that we house.

The Endangered Wolf Center breeds endangered species for release into the wild, and we do not have any hands-on contact with our wolves. However, the campers will have many opportunities to see the wolves from outside of their enclosures, and they will have the opportunity to take photos of the wolves on Camera Day. The Endangered Wolf Center does not have the accommodations to car pool any of the campers. All attendees will need to be dropped off by 9:00 a.m. and picked up by 3:00 p.m. at the main entrance of Tyson Research Center (located off I-44 at the Beaumont/Antire exit, exit #269 on the north side of the highway).
